Every Christmas season we are anticipating the entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival or MMFF. Watching movies in cinemas during Christmas day has had been Filipino routine, it only shows how Filipinos are a film lover. Talking about movies  of MMFF, Shake Rattle & Roll is patron of the said movie festival, almost every year 'Shake Rattle & Roll' or SRR is an official entry to MMFF.

Movie Review: Shake Ratte & Roll XV

Tomorrow is Christmas day! Merry Christmas! Happy Birthday Jesus! and tomorrow also will be the opening day of showing of the Metro Manila Film Festival. 

I will make a short non-spoiler review of 'Shake Rattle & Roll XV.' Actually I'm not a fan of Shake Rattle & Roll movies. There are SRR episodes that I love and there are also some that I didn't. But honestly speaking, as I had witnessed 'Shake Rattle & Roll XV' I must say aside from its the latest installment of the Shake Rattle & Roll, by far its the best SRR for me. 

I would like to thank our friends from Regal Films, I was invited to the advance gala premiere of 'Shake Rattle & Roll XV,' I was one of the very first audiences of the film.

Shake Rattle & Roll XV has three episodes namely 'Ahas,' 'Ulam,' and 'Flight 666.' I can say all the three episodes are worth watching!  

In the 'Ahas' episode —  starred and led by Erich Gonzales, JC De Vera, John Lapuz, Ariel De Vera and more, what I loved here is the cgi or graphics applied to the snake, I am really convinced with the graphics that can be compared to hollywood films, I mean it is so much beautifully done that you would see it good as real and grasped.

In the 'Ulam' episode — starred and led by Dennis Trillo and Carla Abellana etc., I wasn't really that prepared to be shocked because in this episode, you must brace yourselves for a numerous frightening, scaring and shocking scenes. 

How busy are you these days? How stressed? or haggard? Luckily I've escaped being a prison in the employment world, sorry to say that, I'm not saying I'm an anti-employment, well let's just put it this way, I had a bad employment experience tends me to be a full-time blogger now! which I have my own time and most especially I am my own boss! and it is the reason why you are reading this :). Getting back to being busy, stressed and haggard again, When was the last time you pampered you go out and pampered yourself like having spa, or had a facial? If it has been long since, well you should be pampered soon!

I would like to share my pampering time courtesy of course from our friends in Diana Stalder, they invited us (bloggers) for a 'Bloggers SPArty' (Hoorrayy!) this bloggers' sparty is also coordinated by our friends from Star Magic, thank you guys!

Honestly, I don't often go to spas and facial centers before until I just became a blogger, because I I think I don't need it lol, well honestly speaking budget is first in the reasons and priority, secondly and thirdly, because I honestly don't think I need facial before, not being boastful but my I think face is that clean lol, but then I realized that we really need sometime for relaxation and pampering time and facial is essential somehow to regularly clean our face.

For my Diana Stalder experience, I experienced their Diamond Peel with Casmara Mask :). Of course Diamond Peel feels slight painful especially in the nose part or it depends upon where your face has more dirt but I really love the Casmara Mark, I forgot what kind was applied to me but it was really cool in the face and so efficascent-smelling. I said not to cover my eyes and face so I can still took a good selfie hehe.

Again I would really like to thank Diana Stalder (Gateway) Branch for taking care of my face and for the pamper time, of course our friends from the Star Magic for coordinating the event. Aside from Diana Stalder services, Diana Stalder Gateway has also canteen! which I was surprise to see, its the first beauty center I've that has a canteen so after our services done, we enjoyed their much delicious prepared foods.

I am a lucky one, to had witnessed this movie twice already, one during the advanced screening last September 1 at Megamall Directors Club and last night, September 2, during 'The Gifted' Premiere Night, which was also held at Megamall, thank you so much Viva for being always accommodating, that's why I really love this movie outfit.

Firstly, what I love in this movie in the first place is that, it is not just the normal love story movie that revolves in a love triangle etc that bring hurts and kinda dark, while this movie on the other hand is really light, and funny. This movie is not predictable, I love how the story telling goes and how this movie tackle matters like issues of which is better to have? beauty or brains? insecurities, religion, science etc makes it more reasonable to be watched for me.

I commend the actors' acting, Sam, Cristine and Anne really justified their respective roles. Of course the big, fat version of Anne Curtis is really one of the most anticipated to witness in this film, she's just so cute! and Sam's bisaya version is also a must watch, even though I think its dubbed, I still find it interesting in the film and I agree they did dubbing to emphasize Sam's character speech improvement in the second phasing of the story, oops, spoiler alert hahah! excuse me for that. Have I mentioned that this movie is also a sexy film? yes! Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes is really wow! of course there is also sexiness for Sam in the movie. It is also a fashion movie indeed! as Anne and Cristine wear best dresses here.

Technicality wise, I love how they made this movie black comedy, there are scenes funny with these effects like in the restaurant scene, the flaming effect etc, it was just really a subtle effect but it was really effective. I am also happy that this film is a proud Filipino film using only OPM songs as soundtracks and the revived versions of songs like 'Bongga Ka Day,' 'Panaginip' etc makes this movie even better! The post credit effect is another must see in this film, how creative Direk Chris Martinez is! Congratulations Direk, Viva, Multivision Pictures for this one of a Filipino kind film!

I am giving this movie a rating of 4/5.

Okay, let me be straightforward, 'Somebody To Love' is the best film of Regal I've seen up to date! and I am giving this movie a score of perfect 5 from 1 to 5. Honestly, if you would see the movie poster itself, maybe you would hesitate to watch it because you would think that this is just another kilig-kiligan corny movie, and you would ask how will it work to have 11 lead cast? and since it's entitled 'Somebody To Love' you would thought that this movie has a soundtrack of 'Somebody to love' like Justin Bieber's, etc heheh, you know that Filipino movies are fond of that, the title of the movie soundtrack is also the title of the movie and I really wanna get rid of that, because I felt that I would rather just listen to the song because I know that the story would just be how the song is.

My hesitation of liking and anticipating this movie is gone until we had the Bloggers' conference if the movie. Direk Joey Reyes really made me go round and look forward this movie, I really love how directors talk about their films, you would really feel how they are exciting for the movie and you will be amazed by the ideas they have. We bloggers are so much thankful for Regal films for always inviting us bloggers and giving us slots in their premiere nights, at least we felt that we're prioritized here, unlike with this other movie outfit, LOL! I'm not mentioning it hahah!

Going back to the movie, few minutes watching, I thought that it would make my head, ache, cause every few minutes, the scenes are transferring to another scene to another character,because this film is simultaneously showing different characters' life, not individual stories, I commend Direk Joey for making it just perfectly at ease, I mean the transitions are smooth, you wouldn't be lost with the story, in fact in this movie, there is no dead air. This movie really made me realize how our lives are interconnected with each other because as like in Facebook, we have our mutual friends and sometimes we were surprised to visit a friend's timeline and found out that you have friends in common, like that, and its really fun to see watch this movie because you will have a chance to be like God, I mean you will see everything behind the characters in the movie, you know everyone's story in the movie, how they are connected, their conflicts etc. Somebody to love is a movie that tackles life, so watching this movie would really made you realize what is life, how is having somebody to love? The title just really fits the movie. Basta masasabi ko talaga na this movie is just so perfect, no dead air, you'll be crying laughing!
